Christopher Diaz Cortez, born on Jul 24, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada, to parents Carlos and Tammy Cortez, is a talented baseball player who has made a name for himself on both the collegiate and professional levels. Cortez is a right-handed pitcher who stands at 6'1" and weighs 195 lbs.

A Successful College Career at Texas A&M

Cortez played college baseball for Texas A&M University. As a freshman, he pitched 6.1 innings with a 3.60 ERA and 9 strikeouts. In his senior year, he started 10 games and finished with a 6-1 record, a 2.05 ERA, and 57 strikeouts in 63.1 innings pitched. Cortez's impressive college performance caught the attention of professional scouts.

A Promising Professional Career

After graduating from Texas A&M, Cortez was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 2010 MLB Draft. He spent several seasons in the minors, developing his skills and honing his craft.
